Howdy! My how time has flown by…… I can’t believe it’s already December. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and got some great deals on Black Friday!! (I DID). As the Christmas holidays grow closer, we will be as busy as ever here at The Northwest Harris County Aggie Moms Club.
We have several exciting events coming up in December and hope to see you!
First is our Care Package Delivery on December 2nd. At the end of each semester, we deliver Care Packages for our Aggies who are getting ready for “Finals”. If you missed this round of Care Packages, don’t worry, we will be offering Care Packages for “Spring Finals” week as well……information and order forms can be found on our website.
Next will be our Annual UGLY Sweater contest and ornament exchange on December 10th. I love our monthly meetings and the December meeting is my favorite!! Our monthly meetings provide a chance to meet with other Aggie Moms, make new friends, do some crafting, share information and learn about the traditions of Texas A&M. We will be drawing for our Fall Book Awards at the December meeting. Bring your favorite holiday snack to share and wear your best “UGLY” Christmas Sweater.
The meeting will be held on December 10th at the Houston Distributing Company, located at 7100 High Life Drive, Houston, Tx 77066. Arrive at 6:30 for food and fun. The meeting will begin at 7 pm. Join our Crafty Moms at 5 pm to work on some of our custom tradition pieces. We will also have a Crafty Mom event coming up in January. We will have sign up sheets at the December Meeting for that event.
At each meeting we collect donations for a local community group. In December we will be collecting supplies for HOPE CENTER HOUSTON. The 1960 Hope Center Houston helps those less fortunate by providing shelter, food, and clothing for the homeless community or families facing hard times. Backpacks, food cards, deodorant, razors, boxers or briefs and new or gently used tennis shoes, jeans and hoodies are needed for men – all sizes.
Our social event this month is going to be lots of fun. We will be going to the German Christmas Market & Festival in Tomball, Texas on Saturday, December 14th. We will meet at 10 am at the Texas Railroad Depot in Tomball – This event has FREE ADMISSION.
Lastly, the reason for our club: Scholarships!! The electronic scholarship form is now posted to the website for 2020-2021 school year. The Scholarship paperwork is due by 11:59 pm on February 5th, 2020. Visit our website for more information.
